Criteria

The University of Houston-Victoria’s new RN-to-BSN online program currently has funds available to assist with nursing program tuition and fees. Scholarships available are from the M.G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation, Inc.

M.G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation Nursing Scholarship

The criteria for this scholarship is:

  • Nursing student
  • Minimum GPA 2.0
  • Scholarships are non-need based
  • Must be from one of the following counties: Aransas, Bee, Calhoun, Colorado, Dewitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Karnes, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, Wharton
  • Recipients can be full time, ¾ time, ½ time, or less than ½ time

M.G. and Lillie A. Johnson Foundation Scholars Award

The award pays full tuition, fees, and books (course materials).The criteria for this award is:

  • Full-time student
  • Excellent academic record, which is a GPA of 3.50 or greater
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Must be from one of the following counties: Aransas, Bee, Calhoun, Colorado, Dewitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Karnes, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria, Wharton
  • Johnson Scholars Leadership Excellence Recommendation Form – Faculty/Dean/Director if RN for less than one year or student an ADN student.

Instructions

  1. All applications for nursing program scholarships will complete the Nursing Program Scholarship Application
    • Do not leave any questions unanswered/incomplete. We will not consider incomplete applications.
    • Johnson Foundation Scholars Award application will also require a completed Recommendation Form.
      • Only Johnson Foundation Scholars Award applicants will need to provide their faculty/supervisor with the Recommendation Form for completion.
      • Recommendation Form is only valid, if mailed, faxed or emailed directly to the nursing program from the faculty/supervisor.
  2. Submit completed application.

  3. Confirm Faculty/supervisor has submitted the Recommendation Form for your application.
